Minivan operators have set up their own ad-hoc station in South Pattaya, but seem not to care it operates in a “no parking” zone.
Located in front of a tutorial school on South Pattaya Road headed toward Sukhumvit Road, the station had vans clearly parked on Oct. 24 at curbs painted red and white, designating no stopping or parking.
Residents say the station has been operating for months and doubt it is legal as not only is it in a no-stopping zone, but the parked vans create traffic congestion for traffic trying to turn onto Sukhumvit.
Minivan operators have set up a station on South Pattaya Road near Sukhumvit, causing traffic snarls near the lights.
A second ad hoc minivan stop later was spotted near the diversion of South Road heading to Sukhumvit Road with some vehicles even parked on the sidewalk.
