PATTAYA, Thailand – Reporters visited Soi Khao Talo in east Pattaya following complaints from residents on social media about the deteriorating condition of the road near the entrance On January 5. The area was reported to have large potholes, uneven surfaces, faded road markings, and damaged pedestrian crossings and lane dividers. These issues have made the road nearly impassable in some areas.
The damage is attributed to heavy traffic, particularly during festivals, as well as during morning and evening rush hours. Additionally, the recent rainy season has caused further deterioration due to water erosion, and no repairs have been carried out to address these problems.
In response, reporters have informed the Pattaya City Council representative for District 4 about the complaints. The council member acknowledged the issue and plans to conduct an initial survey to address some immediate concerns. The findings will also be presented at a council meeting to request a budget for long-term repairs.
The proposed solutions include repainting faded road markings across Pattaya and repairing damaged roads. The council aims to collaborate with all relevant sectors to systematically resolve these issues. Steps will be taken in due course to improve road conditions and ensure safety for commuters.
