Pattaya will offer free vocational training courses in massage, cooking, handicrafts and more throughout 2019.
Applications are now open for the first classes, which run during February and March. The deadline is Jan. 10.
A 150-hour massage course, complete with certification from the Public Health Ministry, runs Feb. 26-March 14. A 60-hour foot-massage course runs March 15-21.
In the Thai cooking program, a class to learn how to prepare seafood omelets and fish cakes will be run for 35 people Feb. 26-27.
Applications for four more cooking classes are being accepted through March 30. They teach how to make macaroons, crapes, cakes and tarts (Feb. 28-March 1); kanhon tian kaew and palms in syrup (March 4-5), koo chai, Chinese steamed dumplings and buns (March 6-7), and smoothies and beverages (March 11-12).
Beauty courses are scheduled from Feb. 26-27 (makeup), Feb. 28-March 1 (skin scrubs and face masks), and March 4-5 (manicure and nails).
Only one handicrafts course is planned: Garland making on March 11-12.
Those with green thumbs can learn how to grow bean sprouts and flowers in a condominium environment March 13-14.
