Pattaya spending 21 million baht for local-products market

Pattaya is spending 21 million baht to create a market for locally made goods on Walking Street.

Permanent Secretary Pakorn Sukhonthachat toured the South Pattaya construction site Nov. 15 with Walking Street community chief Sunthorn Kangsirikul.

Pakorn said Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome, as part of his “Pattaya Brand” project, allocated 21 million baht to create a market for the city’s 38 neighborhoods to sell their goods through 2015.

The market will consist of a three-story building, on which the first floor will be used for product-sales stalls. The second floor will host a conference room for community and volunteer groups, and the third floor will be dedicated to office space.

No date was given as to when construction will be completed.
