BANGKOK, Thailand – The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy to very heavy rain in parts of southern Thailand, particularly in Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Krabi, Trang, and Satun. Residents are advised to stay vigilant for potential flash floods, landslides, and overflowing rivers, especially in low-lying areas and near waterways.

In the Gulf of Thailand, strong winds will cause waves of 2–3 meters, with heights exceeding 3 meters during thunderstorms. Small boats in the lower Gulf are advised to remain ashore, while larger vessels should proceed with caution.

Meanwhile, northern and upper regions of Thailand are experiencing cooler temperatures, with a 1–2°C drop expected. Northeastern areas will see chilly to cold weather, while central and eastern regions, including Bangkok, will be cool in the mornings. Citizens are urged to take precautions against the cold and potential fire hazards due to dry and windy conditions. (TNA)
