PATTAYA, Thailand – Health volunteers from the Map Prachan Public Health Center, East Pattaya, gathered to register for their Provider IDs with district public health officers as part of a nationwide push to digitize healthcare services under the Ministry of Public Health.

The atmosphere was active and collaborative as officials are working to ensure that all community health volunteers (known locally as Aor Sor Mor) in Banglamung District are 100% registered by April 30.

The Provider ID is a unique 13-digit identification number issued to healthcare professionals. It allows access to a centralized digital platform that provides comprehensive patient health records—from previous diagnoses and prescriptions to lab results, imaging reports, allergies, vaccination history, and telemedicine services. It also facilitates issuing tamper-proof digital certificates and electronic referral letters.

This marks the first round of registrations for volunteers at the Map Prachan Center. Officials noted that reliable internet access and facial scanning technology are crucial to completing the process, though technical hiccups, especially during facial recognition steps, caused some delays. Despite that, registrations moved forward steadily throughout the day.

District public health officers assist with facial recognition and system access during the registration process.

The Provider ID allows secure access to national medical records, streamlining patient care across Thailand.

Volunteers aim for 100% completion of Provider ID registrations in Bang Lamung District by April 30.
