Pattaya tourists were given a warning about the dangers facing them after dark on area streets during a presentation from city officials.
Deputy Mayor Ronakit Ekasingh hosted the May 24 presentation outside Central Festival Pattaya Beach, flanked by representatives from Ministry of Tourism and Sports, and Bureau for Prevention of Tourist Fraud officials.
Weerawut Tapinta, director of the Bureau for Prevention of Tourist Fraud, advises tourists about the possible dangers after dark in Pattaya.
The agencies are cooperating in a public-relations campaign to warn tourists of possible fraud and crime perils, especially those visiting bars, massage parlors and other after-dark attractions.
Tourists were advised on what to do in the event of emergency, how to contact authorities, and the assistances they would receive when injured.
Ronakit also warned tourists to be extra careful of freelance prostitutes, as they might rob tourists.
