Police brass checks 2 Pattaya spots on copter tour

The deputy commissioner of the Royal Thai Police stopped in Chonburi to inspect local officers’ readiness for New Year’s Eve during a whirlwind tour of the country.

Pol. Gen. Chalermkiat Sriworakan arrived at Banglamung School via helicopter Dec. 31 before making two quick stops and flying off in his chopper again.

The visit officially was to inspect the readiness of crime prevention and suppression measure for New Year’s.

He checked out a police service center at Big C South Pattaya and a police box on the corner of South and Second roads. Satisfied, he sped back to his helicopter and left for Pathum Thani.

Chalermkiat said he was checking out all the country’s police forces for the holiday and had already visited Bangkok in the morning.
