Police are investigating after the body of an unidentified Asian man in his 30s was found dead on a Sukhumvit Road traffic island.
Highway Department gardener Duangkamol Kornsawang discovered the body of the mid-30s man in a black t-shirt and shorts around noon Oct. 5 in a canal between lanes of Sukhumvit Road near Banglamung Temple.
There were no signs of foul play and police initially speculated he died of natural causes or an accident. But the corpse was sent for a forensic examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Duangkamol said the body was face down in the water when she found it. Authorities estimated he had been dead about a day. Police suspected he was homeless or a beggar working in the area.
