Chonburi’s police superintendent dispatched a large group of officers, soldiers and volunteers to spread out across Pattaya to round up criminals and prevent crimes at the start of the holiday week.
Flanked by top city and district officials, Pol. Maj. Gen. Amphon Buarubporn gave marching orders to officers from Pattaya, Banglamung, and Marine police, plus soldiers from the 14th Military Circle and volunteers Dec. 25 at Central Festival Pattaya Beach.

Amphon said Pattaya will be awash with tourists during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays and the influx of tourists always sees a spike in crime. He ordered the officers to suppress criminal activity and crack down on traffic scofflaws to keep visitors and locals safe.
