Pattaya police continued to crack down on bars in the wake of negative publicity about the city’s sex industry.
Banglamung District officials and Pattaya police swept through infamous Soi 6 Feb. 26, checking bar licenses and poking their heads into the rooms above all the pubs where short-time liaisons allegedly occur.
Police unsurprisingly found all the rooms in all the bars “closed for renovation”.
Satisfied no sex was taking place on the North Pattaya bar street, officers left without taking any punitive action and announced that they have been successful in “cleaning up” the city’s image.
