Two alleged out-of-area drug dealers have been arrested for peddling methamphetamines in Pattaya.

Wiwat Buapa, 30 of Loei, and Tithi Yoosomboon, 31 of Bangkok, were brought to a May 13 police news conference along with 50,400 ya ba tablets police seized from them.

Pattaya police chief Pol. Col. Apichai Kroppech said the arrest followed earlier apprehension of a drug user who ratted out his alleged suppliers. Officers then had the informant set up a fake drug deal in Bangkok.

Wiwat showed up with 5,000 speed pills and was arrested immediately. He later was taken back to his house, where police found an additional 40,400 tablets.

After interrogating Wiwat, he spilled the beans and had his friend Tithi arrested as well, where police found another 5,000 pills.

Police said the two suspects claimed they got the drugs from an elderly drug lord in the capital, but didn’t know his name. They travel from Bangkok to Pattaya regular to sell to youths here.
