Police are searching for two youths who bound and robbed a Portuguese woman at gunpoint during a home invasion near the Mabprachan Reservoir.
Suzette Lage, 55, was tied up and threatened by the two youths Sept. 22 at the Freeway Villa near Horseshoe Point in Pong. Lage was living alone while her husband tended to his restaurant business in Europe.
Lage told police she had spotted the two youths sitting in an old, white car while she took out the trash. When she returned to the house to use the toilet, the men opened the restroom window and pointed a gun at her.
Suzette Lage shows police how the home intruders knocked her down and put a gun to her head.
Ordering her to remain quiet under threat of violence, the youths looted the house of more than a half-million baht in jewelry and an ATM card. Once they’d departed, she wriggled free and called police.
Police said they may have identified the suspects from cameras at ATMs where they tried, but failed, to access 1.5 million baht she had in the account. Lage said she’d given her attackers a false PIN code.
