A Cambodian technician was electrocuted when he touched a still-active high-voltage wire while tidying up power lines in South Pattaya.
Identified only as Nop, 25, the victim suffered burns to the arm and foot and was transported to Banglamung Hospital.
Coworker Supit Pahawong, 46, said they were tying up and thinning out low-voltage lines on Soi Khopai near Thepprasit Road Dec. 14 and had left the high-voltage lines active.
But Nop contacted one of the lines and was severely injured. Fortunately, he was tied off to the pole and didn’t fall to the ground.
