With its scenic view and dark, secluded areas, Pratamnak Hill is a natural draw for young lovers after dark, but tourists and residents say the romance is getting out of hand, as dawn reveals a landscape littered with used condoms and rubbish.
Residents and cleaners say walkways through the hill’s parks are littered with used condoms left behind by teenagers and, some allege, tourists having sex with prostitutes.
They point to abandoned small huts and sofas left around the area as well as proof people are building little love nests on the overlook.
City hall said the problem is constant, but also warn that safety has decreased with Pratamnak’s increased popularity after dark, with both criminals and homeless people wandering the area.
