Tennis players participating in the PTT Pattaya Open donated more than 100,000 baht in toys and supplies to the Child Protection and Development Center.

Chia-Jung Chuang, Paula Kania, Olga Savchuk, Valeria Solovyeva, and Tamarine Tanasugarn presented dolls and other goods to Human Help Network Thailand Director Radchada Chomjinda and 50 children at the Dusit Thani Hotel Jan. 28.

The children appeared excited and delighted to meet Thai tennis player Tanasugarn and receive gifts from other famous players.

Chana Pankaew, benefits manager of tournament sponsor Thai Beverage Marketing Co., said the company has worked tennis stars for six years to aid children while visiting Thailand.

The brewer of Chang Beer, among others, “also performs socially beneficial activities, including distributing blankets, mobile football and this project,” he said.

“This is a true delight, since these children have idols. Therefore, an opportunity to interact with world-class tennis players is impossible as they would only see the players on television or in newspapers,” Radchada said. “Meeting the real stars has made the children happy, excited and stimulated their desire to be better and will only benefit the children by pushing them to succeed in the future.”
