Police are trying to determine why a Sattahip fisherman was shot and killed in a Huay Yai village.
Aumphol Chuemorn, 26, suffered a fatal 38-caliber shot to the neck Jan. 10 on a roadside near a pawn shop in Thunglaharn Village. He was pronounced dead at Wat Yansangwararam Hospital about 12 kilometers south of Pattaya.
Police could not find any witnesses and nearby residents were not talking to police.
Aumphol’s 23-year-old wife, Wannika Pitatan, said he had left their Sattahip home that morning supposedly to go to the pier to help paint. When she called the pier later, Wannika was told Aumphol had been picked up by a man on a motorbike and left.
Wannika, who said her husband would often disappear for days at a time without telling her, said she didn’t know how or why he ended up in Huay Yai.
