The first hints of the rainy season appeared Saturday with rain expected to last through April 28.
The Thai Meteorological Department said seasonal storms, complete with gusty winds, thunder and lightning, will cover much of the country, with the most severe weather in the East and Northeast.
The rain won’t mean it will be any cooler, though, with high temperatures expected continue throughout the Thai summer. Officials said the inclement weather will be a great excuse for people to follow social-distancing advice and stay home.
