Bangkok – A new industrial park will be established in Chonburi province as part of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project.
The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) and Rojana Industrial Park Public Co., Ltd. have signed an agreement to build the 843-rai “Rojana Laem Chabang Industrial Park” in preparation for the development of the S-Curve 10 targeted industries, which are next-generation automotive, intelligent electronics, tourism for high-income tourists and medical tourism, advanced agriculture and biotechnology, food processing, advanced robotics industry, logistics and aviation, biofuels and biochemical, digital, and holistic medical and health services.
Deputy IEAT Governor Suwatana Kmolwatananisa said the new park is part of the EEC development project straddling three eastern provinces – Chonburi, Rayong, and Chachoengsao – along the coastline of the Gulf of Thailand and encompassing more than 12,000 rai.
Expected to be complete by 2021, the EEC project will turn these provinces into a hub for technological manufacturing and services with strong connectivity to ASEAN neighbors by land, sea and air.
