Latte bubbles and the world’s premier coffees were brewing at Royal Garden Plaza as the mall hosted the 2012 World Coffee Tasting.
The Nov. 22-25 exhibition saw baristas compete to see who could create the most-creative artwork in coffee and milk foam.
Attendees got to taste some of the world’s rarest and expensive brews, including Crimony from Ethiopia, Java from Indonesia, Jamaica’s Blue Mountain and Hawaii’s Kona coffee.
Sombun Unnpracha won 30,000 baht in the general-public category of the painting with coffee contest.
The annual showcase event let Thai artists prove coffee is for more than just drinking as they turned dark roasted blends into paintings for 200,000 baht in prizes.
Ruangyos Krungrasree won 10,000 baht for the secondary school category, Chayanin Kwangkaew won 20,000 baht for the university category and Sombun Unnpracha won 30,000 baht in the general-public category.
In the Latte Art contest Nov. 24, 10 baristas whipped up coffee art in hopes of taking home 10,000 baht. Rachanont Kerdsiri finished first.
