The commander of the Royal Thai Fleet blessed his sailors to commemorate the 93rd anniversary of the main fighting force.
Adm. Suchiep Wangmaithree presided over the Dec. 19 ceremony on the deck of the Luang Angthong at the Sattahip Naval Base. Sailors of all ranks took the opportunity to commemorate Prince Abhakara Kiartivongse, the prince of Chumphon considered the father of the modern Thai navy, on his birthday.
This day is considered one of the most important amongst among navy personnel and a day to renew the preparedness of the Royal Thai Fleet.
