A one-armed German plying himself with Thai rum fell off his barstool and died at a Naklua beer bar.
Hans Dieter Wenzel was found by police March 17 bleeding from the head on the floor of the Bamboo Bar on Naklua Road as a gaggle of bar girls looked on. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bar owner Pornawadee Mathew, 47, said Wenzel had been downing Saengsom-brand rum before suddenly collapsing. Some of the working girls tried to resuscitate him, to no avail.
His body was sent to the Forensics Institute to determine the cause of death.
