A Russian who searched four days for the transvestite who stole his gold necklace finally got his man, but not his jewelry.

Maxim Glushanov, 23, called police around 2 a.m. Dec. 14 after detaining Ladchadaporn Kabkaew, 22, on Pattaya Beach. He told police this was the light-fingered cross-dresser who had lifted his 25,000-baht gold chain while giving him an unwanted hug on Pattaya Beach four days earlier.

Since then, Glushanov said, he’d been wandering around Pattaya looking for the man in a skirt, hoping to recover his jewelry, which likely had been sold within minutes of being lifted.

The Chaiyaphun resident denied he was the thief and police could not find the chain on him. Police, however, promised to keep investigating.
