Sattahip officials joined an area-wide crackdown on motorcycle taxi drivers following the attempted sale of a registered vest.

District Chief Anuch Intasorn and Pol. Maj. Wiroj Jaritrum of the Sattahip Police Station, led 10 officers, soldiers and district officials check of taxi stands Feb. 6.

Drivers were checked for proper licenses, public-taxi registration, proper dress and use of motorcycles meeting code. Those found without proper registrations were told to do so by April 30 or face prosecution.

The check follows a vigorous crackdown in Pattaya after a driver on Soi Yensabai tried to sell his registered taxi vest – and thus his license to work as a taxi driver – on Facebook for 120,000 baht in violation of the law.
