A Sattahip monk was disrobed after being arrested for using drugs and watching porn.
District Chief Noraset Sritapatso led security officers to apprehend Narong Noihangwa, 42, at his temple dorm room. They recovered adult movie clips and drug paraphernalia.
Narong reportedly confessed that before becoming a monk three years ago he’d been a drug addict, but couldn’t kick his habit even after putting on the robes.
The drugs, he said, were secured with the help of another monk at another temple, who ordered them from a dealer via a smartphone app. What he didn’t know, however, was that the dealer already had been arrested and police were monitoring his Line chats.
Both monks were disrobed with the one helping procure drugs charged with trafficking.
