The Sattahip Naval Base bid farewell to the navy’s commander-in-chief in grand style at a pre-retirement ceremony.
Adm. Naris Pratumsuwan arrived at the base via helicopter Sept. 25 to join the ceremony on the deck of the HTMS Angthong before the HTMS Makut Rajakumarn performed a 19-gun salute. Naris did one last fleet review was the HTMS Naresuan, Bangpakong, Tapi, Tai Muang, Surin, Talang, and Martra sailed by.
Naris thanked all the officers and conscripts for their duty, saying his has been proud to work his entire life under the Thai flag to make the nation strong.
He also urged the servicemen to work with strength and honesty for future commanders.
