About 500 military personnel paid tribute to HM the late King at a merit-making ceremony in Sattahip.
Base deputy commander Rear Adm. Sereepharb Sukcharoen presided over the Nov. 7 ceremony at Sattahip Temple with district dean of monks Tatsaneeyakunakorn performing the religious rites.
High-ranking navy officers, government workers and rank-and-file sailors took part.
Sereepharb said the navy was grateful for His Majesty’s kindness during his 70-year reign. He performed many royal works in various fields to benefit the Thai people and the Royal Thai Navy.
The chanting expressed the loyalty of Sattahip Naval Base personnel and showed their sadness and mourning at his passing.
