School marching bands battle it out in Pattaya

Marching bands from across Thailand played through the rain to win scholarships and honor at the Pattaya Music on the Beach competition.

Bands from 11 schools participated in the Sept. 19 event opened by Jaturon Phakdeewanit, deputy director-general of the Department of Tourism, Pattaya leaders and area tourism officials.



Six schools that performed in the Beach Talent Showband performance received plaques and scholarships.

In the main Brass Theater Battles, Lampang Kanlayanee School and Wat Sothornwararam Woramahawihan tied for first. Prachinrasadornamrung School finished third.
Musicians and fans braved rain throughout the event.


The young musicians were well trained and performed brilliantly.
