The son of a high-ranking police officer was arrested for allegedly selling electronic cigarettes online.
Somboon Na Ayuttaya, 21, and Pairin Robkwaen, 35, were captured by Pattaya police in a Sept. 14 sting operation on Soi Bongkot. Eight e-cigarettes, six disposable heads and 40 bottles of vaping liquid were seized from them.
Police said the arrests came after a tip that the two were selling the banned nicotine-delivery devices online.
Investigation showed that Somboon’s father is a senior office at the Royal Thai Police office, but investigators promised to prosecute him without special consideration.
