A Pattaya man masquerading as a Pattaya police officer was arrested after harassing one woman for sex and getting a beatdown in a bar where he tried to extort free drinks.
Pollapuk Jitbanjongat, 47, was taken into custody Oct. 1 at Pattaya Hospital where he was being treated for injuries sustained in the bar fight sparked by demanding free drinks after trying to pass himself off as cop.
Bar staffers were on to him, however, after earlier headlines about a man claiming to be a police officer who barged into a woman’s room to demand sex.
The cosmetics saleswoman on Sept. 28 posted to Facebook that a man who had knocked on her door two months ago had returned to her apartment house late last month, telling security he was a police officer and that the woman had drugs in her room.
He was allowed into the building and forced his way into her apartment where he again demanded sex. She managed to make him leave by calling his “bosses” at local police station.
The victim said she had tried earlier to file a report with Najomtien police, but they refused to take her complaint, brushing her story off as a dispute with a lover. She said she had never met the would-be rapist before.
