Unknown gunmen sprayed vehicles parked outside a political “thank you” party with bullets, panicking guests, but injuring no one.
Four unknown men on motorbikes shot five times at cars outside the Mitmongkol Restaurant July 19, hitting and damaging three vehicles. One of the cars hit belonged to Sakol Pollookin, whose father is vice president of the Chonburi Administrative Organization.
One of the victims points to the damage to his SUV.
More than 100 people were inside the restaurant attending a thank you party thrown by Jaraewat Chinawat, who won a Banglamung district council seat in February. He said the party was to thank supporters.
Jaraewat told police he had received a telephone call warning of violence at the party. He suspects the call and attack were staged by those supporting his rival in the local election.
Police were unable to recover any bullet shells at the scene, but are confident they can find the shooters based on witness reports and further investigation.
