The activist president of the Pattaya Business & Tourism Association has been re-elected to a second term.
Sinchai Wattanasartsathorn was voted in for another two-year term at the PBTA’s annual general meeting March 18 at the Grand Sole Hotel.
He thanked committee members for having confidence in him and said he was ready to work for the maximum benefit of the public. He will continue to work on public transport issues that have been a problem for a long time.
Sinchai said he has ideas to organize motorcycle taxis and rental cars by the beach to be orderly and lessen traffic congestion. He said he has observed the operation of motorcycle taxis, buses, rental cars, street vendors, shops, and other business operators along Beach Road and had talked to them to create understanding to return public space.
He said some operators understood the project and have cooperated. However, the project also needs cooperation from police to enforce strict traffic rules by bus stop areas as well as cooperation from road users to obey rules, especially not parking in yellow- and red-striped zones.
