A Pattaya woman who tried to rescue her sister from a violent argument was arrested for injuring both her sibling and her attacker with a broken whiskey bottle.
Jithra Mahawang, 25, told police she saw her sister, Ratchanee Thalae, 44, getting shoved around by 36-year-old Suwit Panchawana and came to her rescue. She said she grabbed a nearby bottle, smashed it and started waving her makeshift blade around to break up the fight.
In the process, she ended up slicing both Suwit and her sister numerous times with the glass shard, sending them both to Banglamung Hospital with bloody wounds.
Rescue workers tend to the two cut up fighters.
