PATTAYA, Thailand – October 23, 2023 – The Sisters Foundation, committed to uplifting marginalized communities, recently organized a groundbreaking vocational training program. Conducted on October 23, the program, featuring activities like false eyelash application, aimed to empower and support the LGBTQ+ community and international labor groups in Thailand.

Pan Nail, a local business on Soi Bongkot, played a crucial role in supporting the initiative by providing knowledgeable instructors to impart their skills. This collaborative effort reflects the community’s dedication to fostering inclusivity and skill development. Since 2021, the Sisters Foundation has received consistent financial support from the International Organization for Migration (IOM). This backing has become vital in addressing the widespread job losses and unemployment caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Understanding the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community and international labor groups, the Sisters Foundation initiated the vocational training program. The goal is to provide support, enhance opportunities, and facilitate job placements for LGBTQ+ individuals, enabling them to achieve financial independence for themselves and their families.

A notable feature of the program is that participants incur no expenses, ensuring accessibility for all. The Sisters Foundation has a successful track record of conducting vocational training across four generations, covering various skills such as nail art, bakery, and makeup application. Makeup training sessions benefited from the expertise of instructors from the Center for Women’s Development and Family in Chonburi Province, while bakery training was provided by teachers from Pattaya schools.

This initiative has generated substantial interest, with a significant number of applicants participating in these skill-building activities. To apply for the vocational training program designed for the LGBTQ+ community and international labor groups, individuals can follow updates and application details on the Sisters Foundation’s LGBTQ+ Community Center Facebook page or contact them via telephone at 085-699-3233.
