North Pattaya businesses prayed for a prosperous new year during a merit-making ceremony at the Pattaya Beach shrine at Soi 6.
Executives from nearby hotels and businesses on Soi 6 arrived at 8 a.m. for the “buang sruang” ceremony at the Jaow Poh Khet-gnam shrine.
Ten 10 monks from local temples chanted whilst Pattaya city council members made merit by donating 165,000 baht in water filters, 89 bags of rice and other items to Pattaya schools and the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation.
Businesses did their part by setting up booths offering free food and drinks.
