The long-delayed reconstruction of Soi Nonghin in Nongprue is underway again after the sub-district obtained additional funding.

Work to lay new drainage pipes and resurface the roadway had been delayed repeatedly, resulting in flooding that required the sub-district to continually come to the street to pump out water.

Deputy Mayor Pramote Tabtim said the project was stalled due to an insufficient budget of 480,000 baht. The municipality was able to finally complete the job by securing an additional 3.2 million baht.

The Public Works and Sanitation Division has laid new asphalt and concrete over some holes and leveled the surface to allow motorists to use Soi Nonghin safely.

In addition, Chonburi Province allocated 6 million baht to connect the drainage pipes with those under the railway parallel road.

While the piping and connection work is not expected to be completed until the end of the year, the Public Works and Sanitation Division has laid new asphalt and concrete over some holes and leveled the surface to allow motorists to use the soi safely.
