Pattaya will install more closed-circuit cameras in the Soi Khopai Community to prevent crime.
Neighborhood President Wirat Joyjinda announced the new cameras at the community’s monthly meeting March 21. The new cameras will bring the total to 20 in the community.

The meeting also covered planning for Soi Khopai’s Songkran celebration April 11. Merit making and the pouring of water on the hands and feet of older people will take place between 8 a.m. and noon.

Wirat also said he will speak to city hall about the environmental impact of nearby recycling shops, which residents worried about. Police then made their monthly pitch for residents to inform on neighbors using drugs.

Following the meeting, Pattaya Deputy Mayor Kritsana Boonsawat and public-health workers brought doctors and daily necessities to Wirat’s niece, Pimolwan Kiewthong, who is bedridden after a road accident.
