Police say a Spanish man who died in his central Pattaya apartment fell after getting drunk.
Manuel Gallardo Garcia, 53, was found lying in a pool of blood in his bathroom July 27. He had a deep cut to his forehead, which police said was caused by hitting his head when falling. He was estimated to have been dead for more than 12 hours.
Beer bottles were scattered around the room, but police ruled out any foul play.
Garcia’s wife, Chuthinan Thamabooth, 47, said they have been together for more than 11 years and have a 7-year-old daughter.
They recently separated because Garcia was a heavy drinker and they got into serious arguments often, but they were still in contact on a daily basis. She was worried because Garcia did not contact her on Monday so she came to his room and found the bathroom door locked. After managing to get in, she found Garcia’s dead body, so she contacted the police.
