A telephone argument turned into violence when rival speedboat operators sprayed bullets across an East Pattaya neighborhood.
No one was injured and no arrests were made immediately after the June 7 incident on Sukhumvit Soi 60 in Nongprue.
Ate Praphutdee, a speedboat captain, told police he had been arguing with an employee from a rival company on the phone and, even before the call ended, that man and two buddies showed up on motorbikes and opened fire with a 45mm handgun.
Ate’s truck sustained most of the damage.
Witnesses said the assailants appeared not to fear their rival or the police, as they drove off at a leisurely pace following the shooting.
Police are investigating.
