Fire destroyed a scrap warehouse near the Amata City industrial estate in Sriracha, but injured no one.
Ban Bung and Bowin fire and rescue authorities responded to the Sept. 30 blaze at the Jae Lek Scrap Collection facility on Highway 331.
It took firefighters three hours to bring the raging fire under control, an effort slowed by heavy smoke created by the burning wood and plastic. Even excavators were called in to remove the refuse before it went up in flames.
Damage was estimated at about 3 million baht. Initial investigation pointed to an electrical fire that caused an explosion as the cause of the fire.
