A 48-year-old woman stressed by family problems apparently jumped to her death from the ninth-floor balcony of a Jomtien Beach condominium.
The body of Parinya Duang-gnam was discovered in the second-floor garden of the 11-story Villa Germania on Soi Chaiyapruek 4 July 18.
Parinya and her 70-year-old German boyfriend had come back to the condo where they lived for some years before moving to a house in Baan Suan Lanna. Parinya apparently asked the German to remain downstairs while she went up to see a friend on the ninth floor.
That friend, Nad Intararath, 64, told police Parinya broke down in tears and said she had many family problems and wanted to die.
When Nad went to another room for a few minutes, Parinya threw herself off the balcony. Both Nad and her boyfriend were brought to the police station for further questioning.
