Jomtien Beach is a town on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand about 165 km south-east of Bangkok in Chonburi Province. It is about 3 km south of Pattaya and is home to high-rise condominiums, beach side hotels, beaches, and restaurants.
The 6 km straight stretch of sand is a much quieter place compared to its rowdy neighbor to the north. It still has many attractions – some of which are world firsts – but the biggest is, without a doubt, the pleasure of a leisurely day on the sandy shore, splashing in the clean and uncluttered sea and enjoying the cheap seafood snacks available from wandering vendors.
Jomtien Beach is where to find some of the finest restaurants in the area as well as unique attractions such as world-renowned botanical gardens, thrilling water parks and awe-inspiring cultural and religious sites. There is also a great selection of excellent hotels for all budgets.
The former paddy fields have turned into a thriving Beach. Only 3 km down Pattaya Beach, Jomtien is highly recommended to those who seek a quieter resort.
The beach is popular for windsurfers and water sports enthusiasts. Hotels and other accommodation facilities are available along the road that runs parallel to the shore. Jomtien beach crystal clear sea water draws tourists, Thais and expats, in for a swim and picnics in November.
