A Swedish man died after apparently hitting his head in what police suspect was an alcohol-related fall.
The body of Markku Antero Auvinen, 61, was found about five hours after he died inside his Jomtien Beach apartment March 9. A concerned friend had building management open the condominium after he got no answer and the door was locked from the inside.
Police said Auvinen’s friend said the Swede was an alcoholic and had spent most of his month in Pattaya drinking heavily. A waste basket full of empty bottles backed up his story.
Police surmise Auvinen was drunk when he fell, hitting his head on something sharp, cutting open his scalp and killing him.
