A Swiss expat suffering from kidney disease drowned when he went skinny dipping on Wong Amat Beach.
The nude body of Hans-Peter Hermann Stamminger, 65, washed ashore near the Sky Beach Condo April 15. The body showed no injury except a needle hole from an IV bag in his arm. He’d been dead about 10 hours.
Stamminger’s wife, Malida Phudetduang, 35, said she’d left her husband to play tennis with a friend and was informed he’d gone missing and was presumed drowned.
The Swiss expat had been suffering from a kidney ailment that required intravenous drugs. Police speculate rough seas were the reason for his drowning, but the body was sent to the Forensics Institute for final determination.
