Proving that Pattaya’s new community radio station truly is for everyone, a pair of high school girls is anchoring the afternoon time slot with their “Teen Gang” program on Thappraya Radio.
Pimpchanok Janthakul, 18, of Pattaya School No. 11; and Punnapha Nathpath, 17, of Better Plus School host the program weekdays from 1-3 p.m. at 94.75 FM. It offers news and information on activities of interest to Pattaya’s youth.
Station Director Ajintai Krotsanalom said Teen Gang does more than just boost ratings.
Pimpchanok Janthakul and Punnapha Nathpath host the “Teen Gang” program on Thappraya Radio.
“Giving youths an opportunity to be part of the station offers them a chance to practice their skills and build a foundation,” Ajintai said. “Other stations have not provided this kind of opportunity as, for them, time is money. But Thappraya Radio is open for youths with confidence and talents to show off their skills.”
“I have always dreamt of working as a deejay,” Punnapha said, promising to do her best. “I encourage other youths to follow their dreams, to do what they are best at and believe in themselves and to not fear failure.”
Pimpchanok said she previously worked as a radio host for two years, but still appreciated the opportunity to practice her skills and invited other teens to join in.
