A teenage waiter at a Pattaya seafood restaurant is alive, but sore after getting his head stuck between floors in a service elevator.
Yongyut Prakobsuk, 16, suffered cuts to the head and neck in the May 5 accident at the Amon Seafood eatery on Second Road. Sawang Boriboon medics arrived to find the lad’s head hanging down to the first floor with his body in the lift on the second floor. Although seriously injured and bleeding, he was conscious and taken to Pattaya Memorial Hospital after being freed.
Rescue workers try to free 16-yewar-old Yongyut Prakobsuk who somehow managed to get his head stuck in the dumbwaiter.
No one is sure how the teen – working at the restaurant during school holidays – got his head caught. Nonthaphon Rojsakulpruet, the 31-year-old daughter of the restaurant owner, said Amon has been open for 20 years and nothing similar had ever happened.
The elevator is a simple food-delivery lift that can only be sent up from the bottom floor and sent down from the top floor. A 14-year-old friend of Yongyut also denied knowledge of how it occurred, saying he simply called for help once he noticed his buddy trapped.
