Four teenagers were detained briefly and released after being caught on video viciously kicking a drunk foreign man outside a Pattaya convenience store.

The teens, all under age 15, were shown in a pair of CCTV clips posted online from a Tesco Lotus shop on Soi Khao Talo. In one video, the man exchanges words with the youths and then takes a seat outside the store. He is then kicked repeatedly by the youths.

A store clerk comes out to intervene and appears to defuse the situation, but two youths return and inflict even more damage. The foreigner, said to be drunk, did not fight back.

Witness Kingkaew Munchobklang, 20, told police the foreigner argued with and hit one of the youths. The teens told investigators the same thing and said they were just defending themselves.

They also said only two of the four had actually assaulted the man.

Police contacted the parents of all four teens and sent them home.
