The general manager of the Long Beach Garden Hotel & Spa has been named the new president of the Thai Hotel Association Eastern Region.
Sanphet Suphabuansathien was the unanimous choice of members meeting March 27 at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Pattaya. He succeeds Bundarik Kusolvitya, who headed the group for the past two years.
Deputy Mayor Ronakit Ekasingh chaired the THA’s annual meeting, with city council members, mayoral advisors, representatives from the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Pattaya hotels attending.
THA Eastern Region’s new president, Sanphet Suphabuansathien, thanks hotel members for trusting him to manage the association and says he will do his very best to live up to their expectations until the end of his term.
Sanphet will run the organization with Bundarik serving as vice president and Rungthip Suksrikan as second vice president.
The THA was established in 1963 as the “Hotel Association for Tourism of Thailand” with the objectives of promoting the hotel industry, supporting tourism and enabling communication between members. It took its current name in 1968.
