The Prime Minister’s Office, Board of Investment, National Economic and Social Development Board, and Ministry of Finance are considering improvements to draw business to Thailand, including establishment of special economic zones, rebates for foreign film producers, and boosting tourism.

The THA resolved to offer room discounts until December and participate in travel shows in Vietnam, China, Indonesia, Germany and Switzerland.

The Vietnamese road show will take the association to Hanoi, Vinh, Hue, Da Nang, Ho Chi Min, Can To, and Ca Mau April 3-9. In China, members will visit Chengdu, Kunming, Hong Kong, and Guangzhou May 16-28. In Indonesia stops will include Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya April 1-6.

Activities at each show will include seller briefings by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, buyer registration, product updates, TAT’s Pattaya office, tabletop sales, cultural performances, and lucky draws.

The European road shows haven’t been scheduled yet.

Sanphet said the meeting was very useful for brainstorming ideas to fulfill the government’s request for cooperation.
