Vocational students showed off 108 inventions as the Thai-Austrian Technical College opened its 19th annual Thai-Austrian Tech fair.
Austrian Ambassador Enno Drofenik joined Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome Jan. 9 at the Sattahip campus.
More than 3,000 students participated in the annual fair, which also offered Thai cultural shows, academic quizzes, shops for selling inexpensive goods, locally made products, and auto sound accessories. The event also featured the opening of the Thai-Austrian Car Care venture, offering vocational students experience in the work world.

College Director Watcharin Siriphanit said the exposition introduces educational trends to students wanting to continue their technical education. It also gives students an opportunity to showcase their skills.
The college was founded in 1970 as Sattahip Technical College by the Thai and Austrian governments, with the Europeans supplying much of the equipment and capital to get the institution off the ground.
The name was changed to Thai-Austrian Technical College in 1990 with the commonwealth continuing its support over the years while the college has performed social activities and produced personnel for the industrial sector.
